About Cagri Toraman

I received BSc., MSc., and PhD. from Computer Science at Bilkent University in 2009, 2011, and 2017, respectively. 

I was a Software Engineer at Havelsan between 2017 and 2018.

I was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at University of Central Florida between 2018 and 2019. 

I was the NLP Team Lead at Aselsan between 2020 and 2023. 

I have been an Assistant Professor at Middle East Technical University, leading the Applied NLP Group since 2024.

I have been awarded by Google Gemini Academic Research Award in 2024 and 2025.

My research interests are Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, and Social Computing.
